Our privacy policy

At Major Group, respect for the personal data of its members and the protection of their personal information are a priority.

Our monitoring procedures for the collection, processing and retention of your data in the course of our activities allow us to state the information received from employers.

Major Group is committed to collecting only the personal information required to provide the services agreed upon with employers and within the limits permitted by law.

Communication and Disclosure

Major Group does not disclose personal information to third parties for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of the member or as required or permitted by law, and limits disclosure and access to personal information to only those individuals who need it for the purposes intended.

Accountability of our team members

Our teams may access members records only in the course of their usual and customary duties, according to their roles and responsibilities.

The Major Group places a high priority on compliance with our policies and procedures for the protection of information. Our employees are informed of our privacy policies and procedures upon hiring and we stress the importance of following them to the letter.

The amount and type of information collected is limited to that which is necessary for the purposes identified and stated or clearly implied at the time of collection. We may collect relevant information for the purpose of processing insurance claims under the contracts we administer.

Access to Information

Members may request access to the information contained in their file, as well as a duplicate copy of their file, by sending an email request to prp-gm@groupemajor.ca. In this communication, it is important to include the following information:

  • Full name
  • Date of birth
  • Name of the employer
  • Date of employment

Major Group will send a copy of the information contained in the file by secure communication. Major Group may require the payment of certain administrative fees if the person wishes to receive the documentation by mail.
If, after consulting the file, the individual finds that certain information is inadequate or erroneous, he or she may notify prp-gm@groupemajor.ca and request a correction, specifying the nature of the correct information.
